Q:Will this cable work with my 2012 Caterpillar excavator?
A: No, it will not. Caterpillar heavy equipment transitioned from the legacy 9-pin connector to this newer 14-pin connector starting around late 2015/2016. For a 2012 model, you will most likely need a standard black or green 9-pin J1939 cable. Please check your machine's diagnostic port before ordering.
